Emergency Room Nurse - Ascension Saint Joseph Medical Center, Joliet, IL

Sign-on Bonus: $25,000 (subject to pre-employment requirements and terms; not available for current associates; rehires must be inactive for a minimum of 18 months to qualify)

Department: Emergency Room

Schedule: 7pm - 7:30am with rotating weekends and holidays

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies and protocols.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans.
• Record and communicate patient conditions.
• Serve as a primary coordinator for patient care across all disciplines.
• Execute physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate discharge planning needs.

Requirements:

• Licensure/Certification:
  • BLS Provider from the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Registered Nurse credential from the Illinois Board of Nursing
• Education:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (required)
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Nurses hired after May 23, 2014, with a diploma or associate degree must enroll in a BSN program within six months and complete it within three years.
• Experience:
  • Two to four years of clinical nursing experience preferred.
• Additional Preferences:
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications
  • Acute experience preferred
