Responsibilities:

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate educational activities for diabetes management
• Collaborate with nurse managers and staff to assess learning needs and competencies
• Develop, implement, and evaluate educational plans/programs
• Serve as a resource for staff in program development, clinical practice, and professional development
• Participate in the coordination and continuity of orientation programs, including preceptor programs

Requirements:

• Licensure/Certification/Registration:

  • Licensed Registered Nurse credential from the Texas Board of Nursing required
  • Advanced Life Support preferred (American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted)
  • BLS Provider preferred (American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted)
  • Educator specializing in Diabetes Management preferred

• Education: Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing or required professional licensure at the time of hire

• Additional Preferences: Experience working with diabetes patients, providing education on diabetes management at home.
