Job Summary
- The Athletic Trainer is accountable for providing care, treatment, and assessment of athletic injuries for individuals adolescent to geriatric.
- Provides patients, clients, and athletes with individual programs tailored to the needs, wants, and desires of each individual; based on their health history, test results, and fitness goals.
- Demonstrate knowledge of principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to respond to specific issues and data reflective of the patient/customers status.
- Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the population served in the department.
- Work with Manager of Integrated Therapy Services in planning, evaluating, and integrating new programs within the Avera Human Performance Center.
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelors Degree is required.
- 0-6 months of experience is required.
- 1-2 years of experience is preferred.
Licensure/Certification/Registration
- BOC National Athletic Training Certification is required.
- South Dakota Athletic Trainer License issued by the SD Board of Medical & Osteopathic Examiners is required.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) is required.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) is preferred.
Work Schedule
- Varied shifts as needed; PRN

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
