Job Summary
- Performs the primary functions of an R.N. in the SDS Unit and in the PACU. Meets the established standards of nursing practice. Adheres to nursing code of ethics and Avera St. Marys Hospital Mission Statements.
- Responsible for coordination of departments involved in care of patients admitted for Same Day Surgery.
- Communicates with O.R. Director,SDS PACU, and O.R. Manager: Any unusual occurrence, staffing needs, physician comments/requests, family and/or patient comments and requests which indicate immediate action from Nursing Administration.
- Strives to maintain good interdepartmental relationships in order to provide continuity in the delivery of patient care.
- Maintains effective two-way communication with Medical/Surgical staff and nursing service regarding nursing care and opportunities.
- Adheres to all customer service excellence standards.
Education and/or Experience
- Minimum of one year experience in recoveryroom nursing is preferred.
- Participates in educational conferences, and updates and maintains current professional clinical competency related to areas of responsibilities.
- Attends all mandatory hospital and departmental meetings and in-services.
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS are required.
Licensure/Certification/Registration
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of South Dakota.
Work Schedule
- Day Shift; 80 hours every 2 weeks
- Monday - Friday: 6:00 am - 2:30 pm & 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
- On call 3-4 days per month
- Every 7-8 weekend/holiday

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
