Responsibilities:

The Clinical Supervisor of Nursing assists the Unit Manager in planning, organizing, and directing patient care services. This role supervises the teams providing direct patient care. Essential management and leadership skills include conflict management, negotiation, team building, communication, budget administration, and coaching/mentoring others. Responsibilities also include directing patient assignments, staff scheduling, patient flow, and assisting in meeting financial targets through effective management of utilization, productivity, personnel, and supplies. The Clinical Supervisor participates in team meetings and represents clinical staff on appropriate committees as necessary.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Graduate of an approved nursing program required.
• One of the following is required:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Degree
  • National Certification related to specialty (or obtained within 1 year of hire if holding a Bachelor's Degree)
  • Master's Degree in Nursing preferred

Experience:

• Must have postpartum RN experience.

Licenses and Certifications:

• Current State of California Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
