Part-Time Practice Nurse (LPN/RN) at Manheim Family Medicine

Location: Manheim, PA
Hours: Part-time, 0.3 FTE (12 hours/week); between 7am - 8pm; one evening/week and occasional weekends; no major holidays.

Summary

Provide nursing services to patients at a provider's office, catering to pediatric (infant to 12 years), adolescent (13 to 17 years), adult (18 to 64 years), and geriatric (over 64 years) age groups.

Essential Functions
  • Provide clinical advice via phone/electronic correspondence, consulting with the provider as necessary.
  • Educate patients on preventive care, chronic disease management, acute diagnosis, and medications.
  • Prepare patients for visits using appropriate rooming standards.
  • Administer injections and medications as prescribed and per protocols.
  • Assist providers with procedures, minor surgeries, and exams.
  • Perform Point of Care Testing (e.g., hearing, flu, urine, strep tests).
  • Collect blood or other specimens for lab testing.
  • Authorize prescription refills as directed.
  • Track and monitor test results.
  • Remove sutures and change dressings.
  • Maintain and clean exam rooms and medical instruments.
  • Review and revise patient care plans, follow up between visits.
  • Conduct proactive outreach for preventive and chronic disease services.
  • Coordinate care among specialists and manage transitions of care.
  • Assist with referrals, education, and community resources.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives.
  • Join daily huddles with the provider.
  • Advocate for patient experience, maintaining a positive and professional demeanor.
  • Handle patient information confidentially.
Secondary Functions
  • Perform front office duties as needed.
  • May require regional travel (valid driver's license needed).
  • Participate in on-call responsibilities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Required Qualifications
  • Completion of LPN or RN educational program.
  • Current PA State Board of Nursing licensure as RN or LPN.
  • AHA CPR/BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of nursing experience in a primary or specialty care setting.
  • Experience in triage, emergency room, cardiac care, intensive care, or related specialties.
